What is PrinterLogic?
PrinterLogic is a new solution TAMHSC OIT is implementing to handle configuration of network connected printers. PrinterLogic allows for easy automation of printer mapping by group and location, and enables self-service for staff and faculty to connect to printers without needing to contact OIT.
Why is this change being made?
PrinterLogic makes it easier and more reliable for staff and faculty to connect to network printers. It improves OIT’s ability to automatically connect people to the printer they need, and simplifies adding, modifying, and removing printers as equipment changes. Additionally, the change allows computers to communicate directly with the printers, eliminating the server as a source of potential issues.
How do I connect to my printer?
- Navigate to https://printer.tamhsc.edu/
- If you are prompted to install a browser addon, please install it
- Select your City and then building of the printer you want to connect to
- If needed, select the floor the printer is located on
- Fine and select the printer you want to connect to. Use the location and comment information to help identify which printer is the correct one.
- If you want the printer to be your default printer, check the Set as default printer box and click Yes. If you do not want it to be your default, just click Yes.

What is this new icon in my taskbar?
Once the client is installed a new icon will appear in the taskbar signifying the program is installed and working correctly.
Who should I contact if I have any comments, questions, concerns, or issues?
Contact the TAMHSC HelpDesk at 1-800-799-7472 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Will I lose all my printers?
PrinterLogic is being rolled out on a site-by-site basis. All printers mapped via the old print server system will be deactivated shortly after PrinterLogic is rolled out to the individual site. OIT has transferred over all automated mappings that existed under the old system and can add new ones as needed. Printers not set up automatically will need to be connected manually by following the above instructions or by OIT.
Please note: Any printers directly connected to your computer by a USB cable are not affected by this change.
How do I have my printer mapped automatically for everyone in my group?
Submit a request to email@example.com with the city/building/floor/name of the printer and which group of people should have the printer connected automatically.
Can my printer be hidden so that other people cannot connect to it?
Yes. Send a request to firstname.lastname@example.org with the city/building/floor/name of the printer, which people need access, and a note that it should be hidden
