Most email clients can easily be configured to access your HSC email account, both on and off campus. If your client supports an Exchange connection always select that as the setup method. The server settings listed below should only be used in the event that your client does not list an Exchange option.
Currently the Office of Information Technology offers full support for Microsoft Outlook 2010 and higher for both Windows and Mac. All other mail clients will be supported as a best effort, meaning full software functionality cannot be guaranteed. For example, on Mac Mail in OSX 10.10 Yosemite the MailDrop function cannot be used on the HSC network due to security concerns, and therefore is not supported by the Office of Information Technology.

Incoming Mail Server (IMAP):   webmail.tamhsc.edu

  • Use port 993 with SSL or SSL/TLS if using Thunderbird (this might be in the advanced settings)

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):   smtp-relay.tamhsc.edu

  • Use port 587 with STARTTLS (this might be in the advanced settings)

Logon Credentials:

  • For the IMAP/SMTP section credentials, enter your HSC username (without the “tamhsc.edu part”) and password.
